Our heavenly Father has truly blessed us.
But these blessing are not automatic. The key to walking in the fullness of these blessing is obedience. We can see this all through the Scriptures, especially Deuteronomy 28:1. All of the blessing listed there are connected to obeying the Lord.
The most important commandment that we need to walk in is love. If we are not walking in love, we will not experience these blessings. Why? According to Galatians 5:5 faith works through love. If you are not walking in love, and I am talking about God’s love, your faith won’t work. And if your faith is not working, then you cannot receive from God because everything we receive from Him is by faith.
Are you tithing? This is a commandment of the Lord. (Malachi 3:10-11)
What has the Lord told you to do? Are you being obedient to specific things that He has instructed you to do or not to do?
I have learned that thanking Him for His many blessings is a way to walk in them. Do you have an attitude of gratitude?
Are you resting in Him, trusting Him to work in your life and bring the many blessings He has for you?
Another thing that we need to keep in mind is that we are blessed to be a blessing to others. That is the whole purpose of our being blessed, not to hoard the blessings, but to release them into the lives of others.
I was listening to one of my regular programs on the Trinity Broadcasting Network one Sunday evening and he said something that caught my attention.
Deuteronomy 8:18 says that the Lord gives us the power to make wealth that He may confirm His covenant with us. What he said was that the money we are blessed with is for an assignment in the Kingdom.
Do you remember the story in Exodus where the Egyptians gave the Israelites all their possessions and valuables. Do you know why God gave them this favor with the Egyptians. The answer is that later on they gave it back to the Lord so the Lord could build His tabernacle. This was also the wages for 400 years of slavery with interest. If you will go back in Exodus and read about this, you will also find that everyone gave willingly and it got to point to where Moses had to tell them to stop giving. Imagine that, how many pastors have a congregation that give so much that they have to tell their people to stop giving.
I pray that you have been blessed with this series of teachings on Count Your Blessings.
