No Weapon Shall Prosper Against You

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the Lord.

Isaiah 54:17

A life that is founded upon the gospel of Jesus Christ is unshakable. When you build your life upon the gospel, you are building on a strong foundation that will give you stability and the power of God for lasting breakthroughs (see Rom. 1:16).

You may be going through an extremely difficult season right now. Perhaps you are reading this and you have just received a negative medical report, or maybe you are surrounded by some challenging circumstances at your place of employment. I want to encourage you to say this by faith: “I am too blessed to be stressed.” Now invite our Lord Jesus into your situation. Involve Him in your area of need. Whether it is a healing, provision, or relationship breakthrough that you need, see and believe that the Lord is with you.

My dear friend, don’t put your trust in your own understanding. Instead, lean wholly on the one Who is more interested in your success than you are. The book of Proverbs tell us, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” (Prov. 18:10). Run to Him and cast all your cares upon Him for He cares for you. Speak with me this promise of God found in today’s scripture into your situation right now: “ ‘No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,’ says the Lord.” Amen and Amen!

Meditate on the last line of this powerful scripture. In the new covenant of grace, your righteousness is from the Lord Jesus Himself. Now, the more you understand your righteousness in Christ, the more you will experience His promise in today’s scripture.

The opposite holds true. When God’s people are not established in their righteous identity in Christ, they become susceptible to the weapons of the enemy. Weapons such as sickness, lack, guilt, condemnation, fear, depression, and all kinds of disorders and addictions. That is why it is so important to be sure that you are listening to the real gospel. God’s Word proclaims that none of these weapons, even if they have already been formed, shall prevail against you. And every unfounded accusation, every malicious lie, and every false allegation you shall condemn! The enemy doesn’t have a hold over your life. God does, and He holds it together!

Speak the Word

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak.

2 Corinthians 4:13

Beloved, it is not enough for you to merely know the Word in your heart. You must say it. That’s when latent power becomes actual power. When our Lord Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He did not merely think about Scripture. He spoke it out loud. You can memorize thousands of Scriptures, but if you don’t learn to say, “It is written,” and release the Word, there will be no power. God’s power is there, but it is all lying dormant inside you. The moment you speak it out, it is as if God is speaking. God’s Word in your mouth is like God speaking. Amen!

Fear is not something you can reason or analyze away. Fear is irrational. There are some fears that come into your life and you can think to yourself, Come on, what are the chances of that happening? or It’s so silly to fear this. But have you noticed that those fears still hang around? We are in a war, my friend, and the only way to defeat fear is to speak the Word of God to whatever fear you have by saying, “It is written.”

It is written “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” (2 Tim. 1:7).

I want you to memorize that. It’s a powerful verse of Scripture.

Now, I want you to say this out loud: It is written—“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Do you feel the power that comes with saying this aloud?

This is the truth: God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. I don’t care what kind of fears you are battling with—fear of growing old, fear of contracting this or that disease, fear of losing your job, fear of failure. Whatever the fear that has come against you, declare, “It is written.”

What if the fear comes back? Then say it again! Sometimes, I speak Scriptures over my situation in the morning, in the afternoon, and in the evening. Whenever the fear comes back, I speak the Word of God. If the devil wants a fight, give him one! Give him the sword of the Spirit and he will get the point every time. There are many Scriptures you can memorize. Write down the Scriptures that cover the areas of your need, and arm yourself with them!

God’s Robust Peace

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:7

I want to talk to you today about experiencing God’s kind of peace in the midst of fearful circumstances. My friend, peace is not the absence of trouble in your life. It is not the absence of turmoil, challenges or things that are not harmonious in your physical environment. It is possible to be in the midst of the biggest crisis in your life and still experience peace. That’s the true kind of peace that you can experience with Jesus—peace that surpasses understanding. Naturally speaking, it does not make sense for you to feel completely at rest and at peace when you are in dire straits, but supernaturally, you can be filled with peace!

The world defines peace, harmony and tranquility based on what is happening in the sensory realm. The world’s notion of peace would look something like this: A man lying in a hammock on a white sandy beach in Hawaii with luau music playing softly in the cabana, coconut trees swaying in perfect unison and warm, blue waves rolling languidly along the shoreline. The world calls that peace—until reality kicks in, and the transient peace that was experienced just moments ago dissipates into thin air!

You see, my friend, you cannot use your external surroundings to permanently influence the turmoil that you are feeling inside. Only Jesus can touch what you are feeling inside and turn that turmoil into His peace. With the Lord by your side, and from that abiding peace within, you can influence your external surroundings. It’s not the other way round. With Jesus, transformation is always from inside out and not outside in. He puts a peace and rest in your heart that is so secure, you can face any challenge without worry or stress, regardless of your negative circumstances and environment.

God Is a Good Father

What man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Matthew 7:9–11

How do we know that God is a good God and a good Father?

Jesus dealt with this question simply by asking another question: “If earthly fathers, imperfect as they are, know how to give good gifts to their children, don’t you think that your loving Father who is in heaven will be even better?”

My friend, if your child asks you for bread, would you give him a stone? Certainly not. You would give him the best bread you can find. How much more then, will your heavenly Father give good things to you when you ask Him!

Beloved, know in your heart that God is a good Father to you. So if you need something today, just ask Him for it. And as you ask Him, believe that you have received it from Him, and you will have it (see Mark 11:24)!

He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself...

1 Corinthians 14:4

You Can Have True Rest Every Day

The prophet Isaiah describes speaking in tongues as “the rest” and “the refreshing” (Isaiah 28:11–12). In the New Testament, the apostle Paul tells us that the believer who speaks in a tongue “edifies himself.” The word “edify” here is oikodomeo, which means to build up, restore and repair.

I have found all this to be true, especially when I’m tired after a long flight. Many a time, despite the jet lag, praying in the Holy Spirit has given me a supernatural rest and energy to carry on preaching and ministering!

My friend, one of the best ways to be refreshed, to enter into rest and remain restful is to pray in tongues throughout the day. You can pray in tongues under your breath on your way to work or while having your coffee break. If you are a homemaker, you can pray in tongues while cooking or doing the laundry. Beloved, when you involve the Holy Spirit and are restful, how can you not experience His supernatural provision in everything you do?

Then she [Naomi] said, “Sit still, my daughter, until you [Ruth] know how the matter will turn out; for the man [Boaz] will not rest until he has concluded the matter this day.”

Ruth 3:18

            When You Rest, God Works

Boaz wanted to redeem Ruth from all her financial woes and marry her. However, according to the custom of the day, he could do so only after a relative closer to Ruth gave up his right to redeem Ruth. So Boaz went to the gate of Bethlehem to settle the matter with this relative.

When Ruth’s mother-in-law, Naomi, heard what had transpired, she told Ruth to sit still and not be anxious, because Boaz would not rest until he had successfully resolved the matter concerning Ruth that very day. Now, because Boaz is a picture of Jesus, our kinsman Redeemer, the truth here is that when we “sit still” and not be anxious, Jesus goes to work on our behalf!

Beloved, what provision challenge are you facing today? A troubling bodily symptom? The fear of losing your job? Commit the matter to your heavenly Boaz, Jesus, and rest in His ability, His willingness and His favor. When you rest in Him, He will not rest until He has successfully resolved the matter for you!

…He took him and healed him, and let him go.

Luke 14:4

            No Persuasion Needed

Jesus was in the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, and He was being watched closely. Imagine being invited to someone’s home for dinner just so the host and his friends can scrutinize you and find fault with you!

Despite the unfavorable circumstances, nothing could stop the goodness in Jesus’ heart from manifesting. The Bible says that “there was a certain man before Him who had dropsy” (Luke 14:2). Jesus could not look at this sick man and just forget about him. He wanted to cure the man even though He knew that the people around Him were against it.

So Jesus spoke to the Pharisees saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” The uncompassionate and legalistic Pharisees remained silent. I love what Jesus did next: “He took him and healed him, and let him go.” Straight to the point! Then, Jesus turned to the Pharisees and said, “Which of you, having a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?” (Luke 14:5).

Look at the word “immediately”. To the Lord, a sick person is like one in a pit requiring immediate help. This is how the Lord sees people who are sick. He sees them as needing immediate attention.

My friend, if you are sick today, Jesus wants you well. He will not say, “Today is My rest day. Come back tomorrow.” No, His right hand is stretched out and ready to pull you out of the pit. He needs no persuasion. Reach out in faith and take hold of His loving, mighty hand!

…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…

Mark 10:45

Take From Jesus All That You Need

I want to share a little secret with you today. Jesus said of Himself, “…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” Jesus Christ, the Son of God, did not come to be ministered to, but to minister. My friend, when God visits your home, He does not come for you to give to Him. He comes for you to take from Him. This is a little secret to intimacy with God.

Jesus in His inexhaustible supply and divine fullness is here for you to take from. Take from Him your miracle for your body. Take from Him wisdom for your confusion. Take from Him peace to guard your heart and mind from the stress of modern living. He comes before you in all His fullness, full of love and strength for you to draw from.

Why do you think that the Lord referred to Himself as the bread of life? What is bread for? Does anyone take a loaf of bread and say, “Do you not notice the different hues of brown on this bread?” You can talk all you like about the glories of the bread, but as long as you don’t feed on it, it cannot nourish and strengthen you!

Just as bread is to be partaken, Jesus wants you to partake of His love and His grace. So draw from Him. Draw on His power. Draw on His love. Draw on His glory. Consume Him. He loves it when His children take from Him, depend on Him and hence experience good success!

            Grace For Parenting

If you are overwhelmed by the responsibilities of being a parent today, I want to encourage you to believe that there is a provision and a grace for parenting. Instead of worrying and being anxious for your children, pray for them to experience God’s wisdom, favor and protection through Jesus Christ.

Before they go to bed at night, or before they leave for school, just lay hands on them and say, “Because you are a Jesus-boy (or Jesus-girl), day by day, you are increasing in the wisdom of God and in favor with God and men! Jesus will cause you to be at the right place at the right time.”

Cast your cares for your children to the Lord. Trust Him for the provision of wisdom to speak words of encouragement and life to them about making good decisions instead of bowing to peer pressure. As you meditate on His promises to bless, protect and equip your children for the challenges of life, know that the Lord has equipped and provided you with the grace to be an excellent parent!

So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, “Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.” His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant...”

Matthew 25:20–21

            Give Jesus Something To Multiply

In the parable of the talents, the master commended the first two servants because they multiplied the money entrusted to them. They didn’t laze around drinking tea, complaining about how hard it is to get a job in this economy. On the contrary, they were diligent, wise and prudent, and found ways to double the money that had been entrusted to them. The Lord then congratulated them and called them good and faithful servants.

My friend, I want to encourage you to be a diligent, wise, good and faithful steward of the money that God has placed in your hands. As you trust the Lord for His provision, spend money to send out your résumés, to go for interviews or even to upgrade yourself for a better job. Don’t bury your money in the ground by sitting at home and watching television. Give Jesus something that He can multiply and you’ll see Him put His favor upon it!

And Jesus said to him, “Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

Matthew 8:20

            Meditate On His Love

I find what Jesus said in Matthew 8:20 so beautiful. Let me tell you why. In the original Greek text, the word “lay” is a very unique Greek word, klino. It is seldom used in the New Testament. The only other place it is used in terms of Jesus resting His head is at the cross. When Jesus hung on the cross and cried, “It is finished,” the Bible says that “He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost” (John 19:30, KJV). The word “bowed” here is the same Greek word “klino.”

My friend, it was only at the cross that the Son of Man finally found a place to rest His head. Jesus found His rest in redeeming you, in saving you. He found His rest in loving you.

So beloved, feed on Jesus’ love for you. Listen to sermons or sing songs about His love for you. You will be surprised at how strong it will make you. You will become more than a conqueror, not through your love for Him, but through Him who loves you (Romans 8:37)!

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field,” says the Lord of hosts.

Malachi 3:10–11

            The Open Windows Of Heaven

Beloved, do you know that God doesn’t need your tithe? I tell my congregation not to tithe if they have no revelation of tithing. This is because nothing will happen if they tithe out of fear or religious obligation.

My friend, only tithe to your local church if you have a revelation that it is an act of worship and thanksgiving to Jesus. You are saying, “Jesus, YOU are the source of all my blessings and increase. Thank You for always blessing me and my family out of the riches of Your grace.”

When you tithe out of such a revelation, God declares, “I will...open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it...I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field.” Clearly, tithing is for those who have a revelation of God’s heart for our provision.

Can you see God’s heart to provide for every area of your life? When you have a revelation and worship Him with your tithe, you will experience the open windows of heaven!

Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.

Isaiah 60:1–2

            Don’t Fear The Famine

Do you believe that you can experience the most increase when the world is experiencing famine?

My friend, famines have been around since the time of the Old Testament patriarchs. But the good news is that God always takes good care of His people. Abraham had more than enough during a time of famine. His son, Isaac, had enough to sow during a time of famine and reaped a hundredfold. In fact, Isaac began to experience the most abundant increase and provision during the time of famine.

That’s God’s style. All glory goes to Him when you and your loved ones are provided for during a famine. And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.

Exodus 12:11

            Partake Expecting Deliverance!

Chew on this interesting truth: On the night of the first Passover, God told the Israelites in Egypt to eat the roasted lamb with their belts and sandals on, and with their staffs in their hands. A strange instruction, don’t you think? Why did God want them to eat the Passover that way? What was He saying to them?

God was saying, “Get ready! Get ready to get out!” In other words, they were to eat the Passover lamb with a readiness to leave Egypt, the land in which they were slaves to Pharaoh. They were to eat the lamb expecting deliverance out of Egypt. They were all dressed up with somewhere to go!

Now, we know that the Passover meal is a shadow of the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion, which Jesus instituted on the night He was betrayed. So when we partake of the Lord’s Supper today, we are to partake with the same attitude that the Israelites had. In other words, when we eat the Lord’s Supper, God wants us to expect deliverance from whatever enslaves us, whether it’s depression, a physical condition or financial lack!

Today, partake of the Lord’s Supper with a readiness for your deliverance. As you meditate on what Christ at the cross has done for you, expect to be healed. Expect the situation in your marriage to improve. Expect the best to happen to you! And as the Israelites walked out of the land of their bondage shortly after partaking of the lamb, so will you experience your breakthrough!

They ate their way out of slavery and bondage.

On the night of the first Passover, God had told His people to take a lamb for each household, roast it, apply its blood on their doorposts and eat the roasted lamb in their homes that night. The next day, all the Israelites, with “none feeble” among them, walked out of Egypt into freedom.

Why eat the lamb roasted? Because it was a picture of Jesus, the true Lamb of God, exhausting the fiery wrath of God for all our sins and paying the full price for our healing at the cross.

The physical roasted lamb the Israelites ate was a shadow. Today, you have the real thing. Whenever you partake of the Holy Communion, see the true Lamb of God judged for your sins and sicknesses. He has freed and delivered you from every disease!

            Rest Finds Grace

When a subject is mentioned for the first time in the Bible, there is usually an important truth we can learn. So do you know when or where the word “grace” is first mentioned in the Bible? It’s in Genesis 6:8—“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

“So what’s the important truth to be learned here, Pastor Prince?”

My friend, the name “Noah” means “rest”. Therefore, the powerful truth here is that REST FINDS GRACE! The more you rest in the finished work of Jesus, and do what you need to do out of that rest, the more His grace will operate in your life and cause you to experience His blessings! When you go about your work, studies or household chores resting in the knowledge that the Lord’s favor is on you and blessing the work of your hands, you can’t help but see His supernatural results and provision.

Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Galatians 3:5

            Don’t Sacrifice Hearing For Doing

My friend, God who performs miracles among you, does He do it by the hearing of faith or by the works of the law? It is by the hearing of faith—hearing and believing. The works of the law cannot give you miracles, but the hearing of faith can. The Bible says that by the foolishness of preaching, God sozos you. That is, He saves, heals, blesses and makes you whole (1 Corinthians 1:21).

For example, when Paul was preaching in Lystra, a crippled man who was listening to the apostle had faith to be healed. All Paul had to do was shout to him, “Stand up straight on your feet!” And the man leaped and walked (Acts 14:10).

Beloved, don’t sacrifice hearing for doing. In the Old Testament, the Israelites made the golden calf from gold earrings. Gold in the Bible speaks of divinity and earrings, hearing. Together they speak of divine hearing. The calf is an animal of labor. In other words, by worshipping the golden calf, the Israelites were worshipping the god of labor and sacrificing divine hearing for doing. That is what a lot of Christians are doing today. They focus on doing and sacrifice hearing.

And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:41–42

            Success From Doing One Thing

Sometimes, the hardest thing for us to do is to sit down! Indeed, one of the most challenging things we can do is to cease from our own efforts and rest solely in Jesus’ unmerited favor. Often, we are like Martha—worried, busy and troubled about many things. It can all be legitimate things that we are worried about. In Martha’s case, she was trying her best to serve the Lord. She ended up doing many things that day, but missed out on doing the one thing that was actually needful.

Now, is it practical to just be occupied with Jesus? Absolutely. We find that later, in the Gospel of John, Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped His feet with her hair to prepare Him for His burial (John 12:3–8). On resurrection morning, some women came with ointment to anoint Jesus’ body, but it was too late then. They were doing the right thing, but at the wrong time. The Lord had already risen. But Mary had done the right thing at the right time.

Beloved, when you do the one thing that is needful, you will end up doing the right thing at the right time, and God will cause all that you touch to be amazingly blessed!

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:1–2

            Accessing God’s Unmerited Favor

How do you access God’s unmerited favor? How do you walk in a greater measure of it?

Romans 5:2 clearly spells out that “we have access by faith into this grace [unmerited favor] in which we stand.” So to gain access to and increase in God’s unmerited favor, the key that we need to have is faith—faith to believe that we are indeed highly favored by God!

Why can we believe that we are highly favored by God?

Ephesians 1:6 tells us that by God’s grace (unmerited favor), God “made us accepted in the Beloved.” In the original Greek text, the word “accepted” is the word charitoo, which means “highly favored.”

So because God has placed you in Christ the Beloved, you are highly favored! Look at yourself in the mirror every morning and boldly declare, “Because I am in Christ, I am highly favored! So I expect good things to come my way.” Beloved, live life conscious of the fact that God highly favors you and you will experience even more of His favor!
