Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

Luke 2:10–11

            Born To Save You

Meditate on the first words of heaven to man at the beginning of the New Testament: Don’t be afraid.

What encouraging, hope-giving and empowering words of grace! And what were these precious words a prelude to? The proclamation that Jesus would come to be our Savior.
My friend, whatever you are facing today, hear heaven’s encouragement to you—“Do not be afraid.” Do not be fearful. Do not be discouraged. Why? Because Jesus is your Savior.
He came to be your Savior. He didn’t come to be your judge to condemn and punish you. He didn’t come as a lawgiver to give you more laws to fulfill. No, He came to be your SAVIOR. That’s what Jesus is and wants to be to you.

So what does a savior do? If you’re drowning, will a savior condemn you for having fallen into the water and laugh at you for not knowing how to swim? Will a savior throw you an instruction book on how to swim? Of course not! He will jump right in to save you, no questions asked!

Beloved, when it comes to saving you from whatever puts fear in your heart, Jesus is the best there is in the entire universe. He didn’t come just to save you from hell just so you can enter heaven when you pass from this earth. No, He wants to save you every day from anything and everything that you need saving from! See His mighty hand reaching out to you, powered by a heart that has no condemnation, but only love for you!

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

            God So Loves You

A bell is not a bell until you ring it. A song is not a song until you sing it. Love is not love until you give it. And God gave us His only beloved Son, Jesus Christ, some 2,000 years ago, all because He loves you with every fiber of His being.

Every time you think of or celebrate Christmas, remember this: Christmas is a sure sign from heaven that God loves you. God so loved YOU (you can put your name there) that He gave you Jesus. So you are loved, my friend. Every pain you feel in your heart, every disappointment that you go through, every tear that falls, God knows all that you are going through because He cares deeply about you.

Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). Because the Lord so loves you, He came and died to give you life more abundantly. He wants you joyful and enjoying good success. Meditate on His immeasurable love for you this Christmas season and begin to step into a greater measure of His abundant life!

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

John 1:14

Why Jesus Became One Of Us

Have you ever wondered why, when God came down to us, He had to take on the form of human flesh? My friend, it’s so that He could become our kinsman Redeemer.

You see, in ancient Israel, if you had lost your land or something through poverty or bad debts, it’s possible to have someone buy it back or redeem it for you. However, that person had to meet three conditions. Firstly, he had to be a relative of yours. Secondly, he had to be wealthy enough to buy back the land. Thirdly, and most importantly, he had to be willing to do it.

My friend, Jesus came down to us in human flesh so that He could fulfill the first condition, that is, become our relative or one of us. Now, do you think that as King of the universe, He had the means to buy back all that we’ve lost? Yes, of course, but most importantly, He was willing to it—and He demonstrated this with outstretched arms at the cross!

Beloved, have you lost your health? Have you lost your peace of mind? Have you lost your direction in life? Jesus, your willing kinsman Redeemer, can redeem it all for you. Look to Him and not man. Let Him restore to you all that you’ve lost and even bless you with more than you had before!

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14

            A Sign From Heaven

Come Christmas time, one of the things you’ll hear or sing about is the virgin birth—how Christ was born of the virgin, Mary. The prophet Isaiah actually calls this “a sign” from the Lord. Now, why is this a sign? Obviously, it’s a miraculous sign because a virgin cannot give birth to a child let alone conceive. But there is another reason the virgin birth is a sign for us.
Because Jesus was conceived supernaturally without human intervention, His blood was divine, holy and untainted by human sin! And that’s why it was perfectly qualified and perfectly able to wash away every sin of mankind when it was shed at the cross.

Today, the efficacious blood of Jesus has perfectly washed you clean of every trace of sin and given you everlasting righteousness. And the more you know and believe this truth, the less sin-conscious you’ll be as you become more righteousness-conscious. And when you’re righteousness-conscious, you will live right and reign in life!

But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

Matthew 14:30

            Ignore The Winds And Waves

Peter got out of the boat and walked on water at the command of the Lord. But when he felt the boisterous winds, he panicked, started sinking and cried, “Lord, save me!” Immediately, the Lord stretched out His hand and saved him.

Let me ask you this: If the winds weren’t boisterous that night, would Peter have been able to walk on water? Of course not! Peter’s feat had nothing to do with how strong the winds or waves were. It had everything to do with Jesus. As long as he fixed His eyes on Jesus, Peter was able to do what he saw the Lord doing.

In the same way, my friend, when the boisterous winds of painful symptoms or bad medical reports clamor for your attention, remember that receiving your healing has nothing to do with how bad they are. It has everything to do with how Christ has already paid the price for your healing and health. It has everything to do with how He is right now, above every disease that can plague your body. So keep your eyes on Jesus and walk in His strength, healing and life!
The same can be said about receiving provision from the Lord. Does it really depend on how well the economy is doing? So why pay attention to the bad reports and get all worried? Keep your eyes on Jesus and step into His abundant supply!

My friend, don’t let the stormy winds and waves of your challenges distract you. They have nothing to do with whether you walk victoriously over your circumstances or not. Just keep your eyes on Jesus—and receive your miracle!

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

Matthew 11:28–30

            Restfully Productive

When you read about Jesus in the Gospels, you’ll find that He was very active. He preached, taught, healed the sick, raised the dead, cast out demons and dealt wisely with the cunning Pharisees. Yet, in doing all these things, Jesus was always very restful. He was never worried, stressed out or desperate.

When He and His disciples were in a boat on their way to the country of the Gadarenes, a fierce storm arose. The disciples panicked, believing that the boat was going to sink them all into a watery grave. But what was Jesus doing? He was fast asleep! The gusty winds, violent lashing of the waves and rocking of the boat didn’t wake Him up—only the cry of His disciples did. What did He do next? He rebuked the storm and brought perfect peace!

When they arrived at their destination, a fierce, severely demon-possessed man came out from the tombs and met Jesus. His disciples, who were with Him in the boat, were suddenly nowhere near Him. But Jesus, cool as usual, stood His ground and with one word—“Go”—sent the demons fleeing (Matthew 8:32). He brought peace to the man, restored to him a sound mind and gave him wholeness.

My friend, this Jesus who is restful yet so effective lives in you. Look to Him and be yoked to Him. Ask Him to lead and guide you each day. Flow with Him and you will find an inner rest and peace that enables you to be effective and fruitful wherever you are!

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18

            Be Gloriously Transformed

Good things happen to you when you look to Jesus and behold His glory. The woman who had a bleeding condition for 12 years received her healing when she looked to Jesus. Peter did the supernatural and walked on water as He looked to Jesus. Even blind Bartimaeus received his sight when he “looked” to Jesus by crying out to Him.

What does it mean to “behold Jesus” today?

I asked the Lord a similar question once and His answer to me was, “Emmaus road.” Immediately, I knew He was referring to the experience two of His disciples had when He spoke to them about things concerning Himself in the Scriptures while walking with them on the road to Emmaus. Their hearts burned within them as He opened the Scriptures to them, showing them how the Scriptures were talking about Him (Luke 24:27, 32). The experience so energized the initially depressed disciples that they were able to walk seven miles with Him to Emmaus and later seven miles back to Jerusalem!

My friend, the way you behold Jesus’ glory today is to see Him in the Scriptures. He is there in the stories, in the prophecies, in the parables, in the laws, in the rituals and even in the temple design. When you find Him, the Scriptures come alive. When you see Him, you see His glory. And as you behold His beauty, you are transformed from glory to glory!

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”

Numbers 21:8

            Look To Jesus And Live!

People have asked me what the value of seeing Jesus is. They say, “Pastor Prince, you talk about seeing Jesus all the time. What value is there in doing that? I’d rather you give me principles for success. It’s more practical.”

Well, the wonder of it is that when the Israelites in the Old Testament were bitten by snakes and were dying, those who looked to the Lord were healed (Numbers 21:8–9). Actually, they looked to a bronze serpent on a pole, which typified our Lord Jesus on the cross, as He became a curse for us on that cross (Galatians 3:13). Isn’t it amazing that these people were healed just by looking? They simply looked to the Lord and they lived!

So I pray in Jesus’ name that you’ll have a hunger to see Jesus. Every time you hear a sermon or read the Bible, you want to see Jesus and behold His glory. Ask the Holy Spirit to open up the Scriptures to you so that you can encounter Jesus. And as you fix your eyes on Him, you will be transformed from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). You will find peace for your soul, strength for your body and clarity for your mind. Symptoms of death will give way to manifestations of His abundance and resurrection life!

…as He is, so are we in this world.

1 John 4:17

            Keep Looking Unto Jesus

God loves to point you to His Son, Jesus, because as Jesus is right now, so are you in this world! The enemy, on the other hand, loves to have you focus on yourself or man.

For example, he loves to point you to your faults as well as your spouse’s faults. He makes you look at yourself and ask, “Why am I so impatient?” He makes you look at your spouse and wonder, “Why are you so slow to change in this area?” The enemy will never suggest that as Christ is, so are you. Your challenge then, is to look away from the “I,” look at the Man at the Father’s right hand and say, “As Jesus is, so am I in this world. And as Jesus is, so is my spouse!”

It’s the same when it comes to symptoms of sickness you may experience. If you’ve been told that you have a heart condition, the enemy will point you to yourself and say, “Can you feel the pain? It’s coming back, isn’t it?” My friend, that’s the time you need to say, “No, no, no! Look at Jesus. His heart is in perfect condition. As His heart is, so is my heart in this world!”
“But, Pastor Prince, what good can happen by just looking at Jesus?”

The Bible says that as you behold the glory of the Lord, the Holy Spirit in you goes to work, transforming you into the very same image from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). My friend, your true identity—who you truly are and what you have—is found in Him. So keep looking at Jesus and His life will manifest in yours!

So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him [Noah]; and the Lord shut him in.

Genesis 7:16

Shut Into Safety By The Lord Himself

Noah and his sons didn’t shut themselves in the ark. It was the Lord Himself who shut them in so that they would be protected from the great flood.

“Pastor Prince, does it really matter who shut them in?”

My friend, when the Lord shuts you in, you have complete and perfect security! When the Lord shuts a door, who can open it? No foe, whether human, angelic or diabolical, no force of nature, can open the door that the Lord Himself has shut. When the huge waves pounded repeatedly on the door of the ark, it remained shut, and Noah and his family members were kept safe and sound.

Moreover, when building the ark, God told Noah to “cover it inside and outside with pitch” (Genesis 6:14). This was to make it watertight. The Hebrew word for “cover” here is kaphar, which means “to make an atonement.” The Hebrew word for “pitch” here is kopher, which means “ransom” or “redemption price.” So right here you see the atoning sacrifice of Jesus, who gave His life a ransom for all (Matthew 20:28). He is our true ark and we have a watertight salvation in Him!

Today, we are shut in securely in Christ because we are in Him (1 Corinthians 1:30). We are shut into safety. We are shut into preservation. When the storms and floods come, when there is death, destruction and danger all around, we can expect safety, provision and peace because the Lord Himself has shut us in Him!

You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above…

Genesis 6:16

            Don’t Look Around, Look Up!

If you were to build a large ship, where would you put the windows? Most likely, you would put them at the sides of the ship so that the passengers and crew can look outside, wouldn’t you? God, on the other hand, told Noah to put the window of the ark at the top. God said, “You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above…”

I believe that God didn’t want the ark to have windows at the sides for three reasons. First, God didn’t want Noah and his family to hear all the mockery of the people outside: “Noah’s building a boat on dry land. Silly old man!” Second, He didn’t want Noah and his family to look at all the corruption and pollution on the outside either. Lastly, God didn’t want Noah and his family to look at the death and destruction all around them. He wanted them to look up—toward heaven, toward Him.

My friend, it’s the same for you today. God doesn’t want you to focus on the naysayers, who may mock the dreams that He has birthed in your heart. He doesn’t want you to focus on the death and destruction that’s happening in the world and become afraid. God wants you to look upwards to Him. He is your peace, your provider, your healer, your protection, your refuge—He is your true ark! Keep looking to Jesus and you will be at rest and enjoy His blessings no matter what is happening all around you today!

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

See Jesus Doing It Through You

Under the old covenant of law, man works for God. That’s why the law states very clearly, “You shall not…you shall not…you shall…you shall…” (Exodus 20:3–17). The focus is on you working. Under grace, God works. That’s why, in reference to the new covenant, God said, “I will…I will…I will…” (Hebrews 8:8–12). You rest in His “I wills” as He works in you, through you and for you.

Today, the question is, how do we rest in His “I wills” on a practical basis and see the Lord doing what He wants to do in our lives?

My friend, it’s simple. Let’s suppose that you have an important sales presentation to make and your boss expects you to clinch the deal. Instead of worrying, bring Jesus into the picture. See Him giving the presentation. See Him clinching the deal. Just tell Him, “Jesus, this is Your assignment. This is Your project.” Involve Him and allow Him to work in you, through you and for you. The more you rest in Him, the less the stress and the greater the success you’ll have.

Beloved, the more you let go, trust in Jesus and rest in Him, the more you’ll find that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. He will strengthen you and work mightily in you to give you good success!

Then I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years.

Leviticus 25:21

            Blessed At God’s Command!

Let me show you something about God’s principle of rest today.

God told the Israelites to sow and reap their land for six years, but on the seventh year, they were to rest their land (Leviticus 25:1–5). You might ask, “What were the Israelites supposed to eat in the seventh year if they couldn’t do any sowing or reaping in that year?”

Well, God said, “…I will command My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth produce enough for three years.” In other words, God would so bless their sowing in the sixth year that what they reaped would be enough to last them for three years! Isn’t God so practical?

My friend, when you observe God’s principle of rest, your needs will be more than met. When you cease striving and worrying, and simply rest in God’s goodness and promises made sure by the finished work of His Son, He will command His blessings on you. You don’t have to worry about losing out to your colleagues or competitors who depend on manipulation and their machinations to get what they want. You will have more than enough when you do it God’s way because He will command His blessings upon you!

…Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:26

            If You Can Believe

When a poor demon-possessed child was brought to Jesus, the father of the child, obviously desperate, said to Jesus, “…if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” Jesus’ replied, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:22–23).
Now, many of us have been taught that Jesus was saying that as long as you have the necessary faith, all things are possible for you. In other words, if you can produce the faith, you can have your miracle. But is this what Jesus meant?

If you study the Greek structure of this verse, what Jesus was actually saying was that all things are possible for Him who always believes. Jesus is the only Man who always believes, who always has perfect faith. And because He is Lord, all things are possible for Him!

My friend, simply hook your limited faith to the perfect faith of the Son of God. Just believe that He Himself has all the faith for your miracle. Even when you are faithless, believe that He remains faithful (2 Timothy 2:13). When you rest in His faith that NEVER fails, you’ll see His faithfulness bring your miracle to pass!

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit…

John 14:26

            The Voice Of The Comforter

Have you ever mistaken voices of criticism of yourself for the voice of God pointing out your weaknesses?

My friend, I want you to know right now that that critical, judgmental and condemning voice is not God’s voice! God isn’t a faultfinder who lives in you by His Spirit to highlight and nag all day long about your imperfections. No, He is in you to encourage you, strengthen you, love you and point out all the things that are right about you because you are in Christ Jesus, the altogether lovely one. As Jesus is, so are you in this world (1 John 4:17)!

The one who condemns and makes you feel filthy and unworthy of God’s love and blessings is the devil, the accuser of our brethren (Revelation 12:10). But the warm, friendly voice on the inside that lifts you up and cheers you on when you are discouraged and downcast is that of the Holy Spirit. That’s why Jesus described Him as the “Comforter” or “Helper” (John 14:26, KJV, NKJV). He’s in you to comfort you, encourage you, and remind you that you are still the righteousness of God in Christ. He is there to lift you up and help you!

So beloved, learn to listen for the warm, friendly voice of the Holy Spirit your helper. Let Him encourage, strengthen and empower you to reign over all your weaknesses!

…come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:16

            Jesus—God’s Overpayment For Our Sins

Can you imagine paying your creditor 10 times the amount you owe him? How about 100 times that amount? Who does things like that? God did on your behalf. Why? It’s so that when you know this, you’ll never have debt on your conscience again.

Beloved, Jesus is God’s overpayment for your sins. Let me explain what I mean. Let’s say that I owe somebody $10,000. Along comes my best friend. He knows about my debt and out of his love for me, he pays my creditor not $10,000 but $100,000!

Now, when I look at my creditor, I am no longer embarrassed or afraid. In a sense, it’s because of me that he is now richer. He is more blessed than before because my best friend paid him an extra $90,000. In the same sense, our Lord Jesus is an overpayment. If you know the value of Jesus, you will know that He is God’s overpayment for our sins.

So when you come into God’s presence today, you can come boldly, free of shame, fear and guilt. Jesus, who shed His blood at Calvary and died for your sins, has torn wide and opened the way to the holy presence of God. The same blood that tore the veil has perfectly cleansed us of our sins.

Beloved, because Christ is God’s overpayment for our sins, you can step boldly into God’s presence today. You can be confident that your sin debt has been more than paid, and you can enjoy blessed communion with God!

…you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

Romans 8:15, NASB

            ‘Daddy!’

The Lord told me once that walking in His blessings was a matter of spirit—walking in the spirit of sonship. And beloved, this is how the spirit of sonship operates—by us turning to God and crying out, “Abba, Daddy!” like little children.

Today, I want to encourage you to call upon God with the greatest sense of intimacy. Call Him Daddy, Papa or Abba and just speak to Him right from your heart.
When the going gets tough, go somewhere quiet and talk to Him. Say, “Daddy, I want to tell you about this problem at work that I am facing.” If you have a sickness in your body and you need healing, come to your Father and say, “Daddy, Daddy, I need to hear Your words of life and promises of healing for this condition.” Let me tell you, He will surely speak to you!

When you feel so overwhelmed that you don’t know what to pray, just call out to your Daddy God—“Daddy God! Daddy God!” It bypasses legalistic rituals and brings you straight into the arms of your heavenly Father. The more we cry out, “Daddy God,” the more we will begin to sense the love of our Father and His strong, comforting arms. We don’t have to struggle for faith anymore. Faith just begins to rise in our hearts, along with a quiet confidence that Daddy God is going to either neutralize the attacks of the enemy or make everything work for our good.

Beloved, don’t be afraid to exercise the Spirit of sonship. Call on your Daddy God like a little child and experience His embrace, protection, deliverance and provision today!

God sent forth His Son…to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Galatians 4:4–5

            A Matter Of Spirit

As an heir of God, you have a rich inheritance. All the blessings of your heavenly Father are yours!

“Well, Pastor Prince, if it’s true that I am an heir of God because I’m His son, then why am I still not seeing the blessings?”

I asked the Lord the same question once. I said, “Lord, why is it that there are believers who don’t seem to be blessed despite the fact that they are Your sons and heirs?” The Lord said this to me, “It’s a matter of spirit.” Then, He pointed me to Romans 8:15, NIV—“For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ‘Abba, Father.’” He was telling me that walking in His blessings has to do with having a spirit of sonship.

How does the spirit of sonship operate? By the cry, “Abba, Father!” The Holy Spirit left the word Abba, meaning “Daddy” or “Papa,” untranslated in Romans 8:15 so that we will know that God wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him. Seeing God as Daddy and calling Him “Daddy” or “Papa” removes any distance and breaks down every barrier between you and God. It brings you into an intimate relationship with God and that’s how the spirit of sonship operates.

So beloved, have a spirit of sonship. Don’t see God as an impersonal, distant being who doesn’t really care how you feel. He isn’t just Almighty God, He is also your Daddy! Have this sense of intimacy with Him all the time and start to walk in a greater measure of your Daddy’s blessings!
