Meditate On

And when the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it.

Numbers 11:9

            Grace For Your Darkest Moments

Look at today’s verse and notice that the manna fell on the camp of the Israelites during the night.

My friend, night speaks of the darkest moments in one’s life. This means that in your darkest moments, God is still supplying you His “manna” or grace. He has not abandoned you and left you to your own devices. No, He is still there with you, caring for you, watching over you and working things out for your good.

So beloved, rest in God’s love for you and let Him sort things out for you. Stop trying to solve the problem in your own strength and wisdom—let God be God to you. He is with you, for your success and will provide for your needs. His grace for you falls afresh every day. His mercies that are new every morning will also see you through the darkest nights!

Today, just see His grace upon you and all around you. Be conscious of it, thank Him for it, and see His grace do wonders for you!

Meditate On

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by Him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

            The Spirit Of Sonship  

        

The Spirit of sonship which we have received from God is the Spirit by which we cry, “Abba, Father.” Have you ever cried to God like He is your Daddy? Yes, He is El Shaddai. He is Elohim. But in the new covenant He is Daddy! The Holy Spirit put the Aramaic word “Abba” there, which means “Daddy” or “Papa” in English, and didn’t have it translated because He wants us to know that God is not a distant, impersonal being, but a close and intimate Daddy! That is the Spirit of sonship.

My friend, when you pray, learn to say, “Dear Daddy God…” Forget the formalities and traditions of man. Just call Him “Daddy”, and sense His closeness to you. You can bring all your cares, worries and anxieties to Him, knowing that the all-powerful King of the universe is your Daddy!

At the cross, Jesus cried out, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46). For the first time, He addressed His Father as “God.” He experienced distance—in fact, a cutting-off—from the Father because He was carrying all our sins upon Himself. Why? So that you and I can experience closeness and intimacy with the Father, and cry out “Daddy!” from our hearts.

A child who cries “Daddy!” belongs in his daddy’s embrace. So when we cry out, “Daddy God!” we take our place as His beloved children, and find our strong and loving Daddy rushing in to embrace, protect and deliver us!

Meditate On

It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep His promise.

Hebrews 11:11, NLT

            God Keeps His Promises   

  

How do you continue to believe God for the breakthrough that you need when you don’t feel that you have the faith to go on?

My friend, the answer lies in today’s scripture. Sarah was “barren and was too old” to have a child, but “by faith” she received strength to conceive and gave birth to Isaac. Her faith was involved. How did Sarah exercise her faith to receive her miracle? She simply “believed that God would keep His promise.” In other words, she banked on the faithfulness of God. Her eyes were not on her faith or lack of it, nor were they on how tough her natural circumstances were.

When you feel that your faith has run out, just rest in how God is always faithful! Count on His faithfulness, not your faithfulness. Lean hard on the fact that He remains faithful even when you’re wavering in faith (2 Timothy 2:13).

Beloved, once God gives you a promise from His Word, it’s not for you to struggle and conjure up faith to make His promise come to pass. You cannot make the miracle happen—only God can. You are to rest in Him who has promised, rest in His faithfulness, and you will experience your miracle!

            Health Through The Oil, Bread And Wine

           

A brother from New Zealand shared an amazing healing testimony with me. After undergoing two surgeries, he was diagnosed with grade eight prostate cancer and given a grim report by his specialist.

A couple, who were elders from his church, anointed him with oil and prayed over him. He felt God’s power go through him. Following this, his wife would anoint him every night with a bottle of oil, and they would pray and take the Holy Communion together. His symptoms started to disappear and he began to feel so much better. At his next checkup, his specialist was amazed. She proclaimed his blood test report ‘‘fantastic” because it showed all indicators in the normal range!

Beloved, the oil, bread and wine represent Jesus’ finished work at the cross. Jesus provided His own body to be punished for the healing of your diseases and afflictions. Rest in the reality that by His stripes you are healed!

But the Lord was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief…

            Crushed For Our Total Well-Being

How is holy anointing oil produced? By crushing olives in an oil press to extract the oil. This is a beautiful picture of the crushing of our Lord Jesus, which began in the Garden of Gethsemane. “Gethsemane” literally means “oil press.”

The Bible tells us that Jesus was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Jesus came to be crushed for us. He came to be bruised, scourged and pierced. Why? So that all that He is—health, life, wholeness, abundance, fruitfulness, grace, goodness—can flow out like golden oil into our lives!

My friend, whenever you use the holy anointing oil for healing, provision or protection, remember that Jesus has already been crushed for your total well-being. See the work as completely finished and enter into rest. That’s how you receive your victory!

            Blessed To Be A Blessing    

 

Do you remember the words that God pronounced over Abraham? He said, “I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing” (Genesis 12:2).

My friend, as you trust God to walk more and more in the fullness of Abraham’s blessing, have a revelation that He blesses you because He loves you, and gives to you the privilege of being a practical extension of His love to your community, your country and beyond.

God’s financial provision is for a divine purpose. Don’t use people and love money. Instead, use money to love people! When it comes to our relationship with people, it is always more blessed to give than to receive. Have an abundant eye and heart, look around for people in need and bless them. Let your light so shine before all men for the glory of the name of Jesus Christ!

Today, see His abundant grace abounding toward you and your family so that you will have an abundance for every good work!

Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives…who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life.

            Your Tithe Testifies That Jesus Lives!

       

When you have a revelation that the Lord is the source of every blessing you have, and tithe out of a heart of gratitude for His provision in your life, Hebrews 7:8 tell us that you are not tithing to mortal men, but to Christ who lives. You are tithing to Jesus our High Priest, whose priesthood is after the order of Melchizedek—“according to the power of an endless life” (Hebrews 7:14–17). That is why when you bring your tithes, you are declaring that Jesus is indeed alive in your life!

Do you know what it means to have Jesus alive in your life? It means that He will come into your negative circumstance and turn it around for your good! It means that there will be tokens, signs and wonders that He is alive in your life. People will look at you and say, “How is it you manage to stay so blessed despite the economic situation?”

Beloved, He will set you apart from the people of the world and provide abundantly for all your needs!

Meditate On

in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

            Thank God Always!

Do you know that the Greek word for “thank” is charis, the same Greek word used for “grace”? So to be full of grace is to be full of thanksgiving. God wants us to give thanks always. Even when things don’t go well with us, we can choose to have a spirit of thanksgiving because He is faithful and able to work all things out for our good (Romans 8:28).

The thing about us is that there can be 10 good things happening to us, yet our human tendency is to focus on the one thing that is negative and fixate on it. We tend to look at what we don’t have, instead of thanking God for what we do have. We need to understand that when we thank God for what we do have, even if it is only “five loaves of bread and two fish,” what we have will be multiplied. Remember what Jesus did before the five loaves and two fish were multiplied to feed more than 5,000 people? He gave thanks to the Father for the little that He had (Matthew 14:17–21, NIV).

My friend, cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving and graciousness, and keep it flowing today. Thank God for the parts of your body that are working fine. Thank God for whatever the amount you have in your bank account. Don’t focus on what you don’t have. Count your blessings every day. Thank Him for His presence and grace that make all the difference. Not only will you have more joy, but you will also experience His blessings and increase!

            God Is With You In Your Fiery Trial  

      

When Daniel’s friends, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, were cast into the fiery furnace by Nebuchadnezzar, guess who showed up? Jesus! He was there in the furnace with them to protect and deliver them. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego came out of the fire totally unharmed—“the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them” (Daniel 3:27)!

My friend, when you go through a fiery trial, the Lord is not somewhere far away, saying, “Yep, from the comfort of My heavenly throne, I can see what you are going through. Even though I’m not with you, I can see you, so just hang in there, okay?” No, He is right there with you in your trial. Not only that, He will protect you and deliver you. The Bible says that “God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).

So whatever the fiery trial you are going through today, God is right there with you. He will protect you, comfort you and make a way of escape for you. Put your hand in His hand and let Him bring you out of the “furnace” without even smelling of the smoke of your negative circumstances!

Meditate On

A sound heart is life to the body...

Proverbs 14:30

            Relax!

What is a “sound heart” that is life to the body?

In today’s verse, the word “sound” is the Hebrew word marpe, which is from the Hebrew word, rapha, meaning “heal.” Going just a bit deeper, you’ll find that the root word of rapha is the Hebrew word for “relax.”

Put it all together and what you’ll see is that a relaxed heart gives healing or health to our bodies. That’s why The Living Bible translates the verse as, “A relaxed attitude lengthens a man’s life.”

My friend, God wants you to have a heart that is at peace, and a relaxed attitude about the issues of life, so that you can walk in health. It’s no wonder Jesus said, “...do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on...” (Matthew 6:25). In that sermon, you will hear the constant refrain, “Do not worry”—because you have a loving heavenly Father who provides for you.

Today, choose to stop worrying about your health, finances, family, career or whatever is troubling you. Do what needs to be done but entrust the matter to God and trust Him to guide you (Proverbs 3:6). Cast every care upon Him, knowing that He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Beloved, make a decision today not to let your heart be agitated or disturbed, and step into a greater measure of health and wholeness for yourself!

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

            Let Go And See God’s Supply Flow    

      

There is a story of a young man who struggled to make ends meet. One day, he got six pieces of white cardboard paper and wrote down these six letters: “L-E-T G-O-D.” This was to remind him to stop worrying and striving to provide for himself and his family, and to let God take over. He placed the cards upright on his dressing table so that he would be reminded each day to let God provide for him.

Well, days passed and nothing changed. He was still in lack and became even more worried, anxious and frustrated. One day, out of desperation, he prayed, “God, please, I really want to know how to ‘let You.’ I want You to take over and supply all my needs, but I don’t know how to! God, please answer me.” The window in his room was open. A wind blew in—whoosh!—and one of the cards fell off the table. It was the last card with the letter “D.” The man looked up and saw the remaining cards spell the words, “LET GO.”

My friend, the way you LET GOD provide for you is to LET GO! Let go and stop worrying about the problem. Cast it into the hands of Almighty God who cares for you and leave it there, and you will begin to see His grace and provision flow freely in your life!

            Take The Road Called ‘Peace’  

     

In all the decisions that you need to make today, stay on the path of peace. The Book of Wisdom tells us that the paths of wisdom are always paths of peace. So if you’re faced with a difficult decision, or when there are many choices opened to you, take the path called “peace.”

Do the first thing that makes you peaceful. If it means not buying that big house and going for a smaller, more affordable one, do it. If it means letting go of an abusive relationship, do it. It may seem like you are losing out, but trust me, when you follow wisdom’s paths of peace, they will ultimately lead you to wholeness and life.

My friend, God, who has infinite wisdom, leads you by His peace. He knows what’s best for you and wants what’s best for you! The Book of Proverbs says, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:6). So in all your undertakings, acknowledge the Lord. Invite Him to be involved in them. Commit every matter to Him and ask for His wisdom. Ask Him also to teach you to walk in the ways of peace. He will surely direct your paths and lead you to good success!

            Remain At Rest  

      

The first battle that the Israelites fought after leaving Egypt was at a place called Rephidim. They were camped there, minding their own business, when the Amalekites came and attacked them.

Let me share something powerful with you here. The name “Rephidim” means “resting places.” Israel was literally at a place of rest when trouble came. Maybe you’ve experienced this too. And when times like these come, what should you do? Well, you meet the challenge, my friend!

Now, I don’t mean going into battle with the devil as though Christ has not already defeated him at the cross. No, the real fight is to stand your ground and remain at rest. The enemy wants to wrestle you out of your position of rest, get you into self-effort and get you all agitated, anxious and fearful. But God wants you to remain seated and restful, trusting in Him and the finished work of His Son that has wrought victory over all the works of the enemy.

So don’t get provoked out of your place of rest. Know that the Lord is on your side and with you in the midst of your battle. As you remain at rest in Him, He will give you might and lead you to a glorious victory, as he did that day for the Israelites against the Amalekites!

...Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Genesis 6:8

            Rest Finds Grace   

   

The first time the word “grace” appears in the Bible is in the story of Noah—“Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord” (Genesis 6:8). Noah’s name means “rest,” so the verse is showing us here that “Rest found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”

My friend, the enemy gets you off-track by getting you out of rest. How does he do this? By getting you into self-effort, where you trust in your own abilities to solve your problem. He wants you running around frantically looking for a solution, feeling anxious and troubled. But God wants you restful, trusting in Him and allowing Him to lead you to victory. Look at Jesus in the Gospels. No one was more restful than Him, yet no one was more effective than He was! Jesus rested in the love of His Father and only did what He saw His Father doing—there was no self-effort.

Beloved, stop striving through your own efforts and rest in the Lord’s love for you. Rest by trusting in His finished work. That’s how you allow Him to direct you with divine wisdom to His divine solutions. That’s how you allow His grace to abound in your life. His grace will stop that addiction. His grace will drive out that disease. His grace will fill your areas of lack and lead you to abundance and victory!

…Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:2

            Your Time Is Now!  

Beware of two thieves in your life. They are called “yesterday” and “tomorrow.” They will try to rob you of your present joy. Yesterday will remind you of your past mistakes and mire you in regret. Tomorrow will remind you of your upcoming challenges and try to drown you with worry.

Remember the two thieves who were crucified with Jesus? One of them lived in his past (yesterday). So conscious of all that he had done, he could not repent and would not ask the Lord to save him. The other thief pointed the Lord to the future (tomorrow), saying, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.” Jesus’ answer was “today”—“today you will be with Me in Paradise” (Luke 23:42–43). Jesus saved him that very day!

Beloved, Jesus was crucified in the midst of these two thieves to redeem you from being robbed left and right of your present joy and peace. You don’t have to live life regretting the past or worrying about the future. When it comes to your salvation, God has only one timing—now. His Word says that “now is the accepted time…now is the day of salvation.” If you are sick, God wants you healed now. Is that hard to believe? Look at how Jesus healed the sick. He never told any one of them who came to Him, “Not today. Come back tomorrow,” or “You are too late. You should have come yesterday.”

My friend, God wants to help you today, not tomorrow or next week. He is a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Reach out now and take all the help you need from Him!

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

            Guard Your Heart And God Will Guard The Rest   

      

In the modern, fast-paced world that we live in, there are always things to do: Drive the kids to school, make important phone calls, answer work emails, attend meetings, cook dinner, do the laundry, pay the bills…the list goes on.

It seems like we have so many responsibilities that it’s really difficult to not let our hearts be troubled by any one of them. But do you know what the Lord says about all this? He says that our only responsibility is to guard our hearts, and He’ll take care of the rest.

Meditate on this for a while: Our only responsibility is to guard our hearts and God will guard everything else. We guard our hearts on the inside, and whatever is on the outside, God will guard. So don’t worry about what’s happening on the outside. If your peace and restfulness depend on how things on the outside fair for you, the devil will have a field day with you because what’s on the outside is usually beyond your control.

Learn to guard your heart from being troubled and let God take care of the rest. Note that Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled…” So you are to let not your heart be troubled. No one else can do it for you. Meditate on His promises and love for you until they take root in your heart. It may take practice, but keep at it and you will find an inner peace and strength to face each day’s challenges and come out on top!

On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.”

Mark 4:35

            You Will Go Over And Not Under!    

       

Jesus was in a boat with His disciples and they were caught in a great windstorm. Water was coming into the boat and the disciples, fearing that they would drown, cried out to Jesus, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” (Mark 4:38).

The Lord arose immediately from His sleep and rebuked the storm—“Peace, be still!”—and there was a great calm. Then, He turned to His disciples and said, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” (Mark 4:39–40).

Now, why do you think Jesus questioned His disciples about their absence of faith? I believe that it was because they didn’t believe what Jesus had said to them earlier: “Let us cross over to the other side.”

My friend, Jesus, through His finished work, has given you victory in all things. Even if you are facing giant waves of adversity today, His Word promises you that you will get over to the other side victoriously. And when Jesus tells you that you are going over to the other side with Him, you are going over! You will not go under! Whatever situation you are in now, put your trust in Jesus, who is always with you, and arrive safely on “the other side”—to your breakthrough!

…So he cut off a stick, and threw it in there; and he made the iron float.

2 Kings 6:6

            Supernatural Cancellation Of Debt

Elisha’s prophets-in-training were cutting down trees near the Jordan River to use the wood to build a larger place to meet. But as one of them was chopping away, his iron ax head fell into the water and he cried, “Alas, master! For it was borrowed” (2 Kings 6:5). The man was upset because he was now in debt—he owed someone an ax head.

What did Elisha do? He threw a stick into the spot where the ax head had fallen, and the ax head floated up. Then, Elisha told the man who had lost the ax head to pick it up. You could say that this was a supernatural cancellation of debt!

My friend, if you have a debt today, know that God is interested in getting you out of it. Even if it was a result of your foolishness, God doesn’t hold it against you. In the story, Elisha didn’t ask whose fault it was or why the person was so careless. He was only interested in solving the problem. Many of the sins we commit are out of our own folly. Yet, God cancelled our debt of sin because Jesus paid the debt for us at Calvary. With that debt gone, we can freely receive all that God has for us.

Beloved, the stick that Elisha threw into the water speaks of the cross. So because of the cross of Jesus, today, you can have your debts supernaturally cancelled. As you bring your situation before the Lord, see the provision He made for you at the cross—God will give you the wisdom and the means to clear every debt!

            Health Through His Redemptive Work  

   

I encourage you to meditate on and visualize the redemptive work of Christ every day. In fact, it is especially when you are sick that you need to focus on the fact that Jesus was scourged for your healing. When you are experiencing disturbing or painful physical symptoms in your body, see Jesus taking all the stripes on His back for your healing. See His back being lacerated and shredded as payment for your wholeness, and every stripe will be healing to you.

Beloved, instead of meditating on the symptoms and how bad the condition is, meditate on what the Son of God has done for you. Say, “Thank You, Jesus. By Your stripes, I am healed.” All of heaven stands behind the work of the Son of God. And the Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of truth inside you, will bear witness with the truth of God’s Word by giving life to your body.

The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to man.

            Rest And Enjoy What Jesus Has Provided

God made everything on this earth for the pleasure and fulfilment of man. Just as an expectant couple would get ready the room, the cot and the clothes for the arrival of their baby, God prepared everything man needed first, including the garden of Eden, so that when man was created, man would be able to just enjoy everything that God had created.

In the same way today, Jesus has already done everything for you when He died on the cross for you. The work is finished. What do you need today? Healing? A financial breakthrough? A better job? Every blessing that you will ever need in this life has already been provided for by the sacrifice of Jesus (2 Peter 1:2–3). And to experience these blessings in your life, all you have to do is believe and rest in what Jesus has done for you. So stop trying to make things happen with your self-efforts. You cannot add to the finished work of Jesus.

Beloved, just believe and rest in all that Christ has already done for you. Tell the Lord today, “Lord, I cease from all striving, struggling, pushing and manipulating to get my breakthrough. I rest in what You have already done for me and I thank You that You will bring it to pass in my life!”
